Founder and Managing Director, Randy Bates, was instrumental in commercializing an advanced seismic interpretation and analysis software program for locating and analyzing previously bypassed oil and gas deposits. The team’s intimate knowledge of that technology has enhanced Branta’s ability to continually offer superior solutions.

Randy Bates is a Founder & Managing Director of Branta overseeing group operations and project execution. Previously, as President of NuSource Energy, he commercialized the NuTech petro physical technology to explore and develop previously unrecognized oil and gas opportunities.

Prior to that he served as a Director of Corporate Planning for Santa Fe Energy Resources, and began his career with Amoco Production Company managing all aspects of oil and gas exploration and production.

Randy holds both a Bachelors of Science in Engineering from Texas A&M University and a Masters in Business Administration from The University of Texas of the Permian Basin.

In his community, Randy is involved with the Boy Scouts, Small Steps Nurturing Center and the Wounded Warriors project.

Fred Tresca is a Founder & Managing Director of Branta responsible for group operations and strategy. Previously as Managing Director of Meridian (the successor to Meridian Capital) and Golden Eagle Partners, both private investment companies, he focused on international oil and gas opportunities.

Prior to 1997, as Partner at Price Waterhouse, he was the founding Partner of their practice in Central Asia. He played a lead advisory role with the Government of Kazakhstan in forming the Kashagan consortium with eight international oil companies (the largest oil discovery in 25+ years), the transfer of government owned oil and gas fields to private ownership, and the formation of two large public oil companies – Petro Kazakhstan and Nelson Resources.

Fred holds a BS in Accounting and Finance from Florida State University and is a Certified Public Accountant.

In his community, Fred is a member and Director of the local Chaine Chapter, a member of The Woodlands United Methodist Church, the Vail Valley Foundation Advisory Board, Amegy Bank Council and past Director of Woodlands Academy Preparatory School. He continues to be active with Montgomery County Youth Services annual Woodlands Celebrity Golf Classic

Ronald Nutt has over 40 years of domestic and international experience in drilling and completion operations, reservoir engineering, acquisition and divestments, and investment banking.

He has held senior management positions for both private and public oil and gas exploration companies, most recently as Chief Operating Officer for Vess Oil Corporation in Dallas, Texas and Vice President, Southern Business Unit for Forest Oil Corporation in Houston, Texas.

Mr. Nutt holds a BS in Petroleum Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Clayton King is Vice President of Land & Business Development for Branta. With over a decade of diverse experience in the oil and gas industry which includes land, exploration & production, and acquisitions & divestitures, he is also a Founder and Principal of CE Oil & Gas LLC.

He is an active member and sponsor of the American Association of Professional Landmen, Houston Association of Professional Landmen, ADAM Houston Energy Network and North Houston Association of Professional Landmen.

Clayton holds a BA from Texas A&M University.

Wendy Sheasby is the Chief Financial Officer for Branta. She is a Certified Public Accountant in Texas and Louisiana and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant. Her business and financial management experience ranges from commercial real estate, hospitality, manufacturing, mining, and oil and gas exploration and production, acquisitions and divestitures.

She is a current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Petroleum Accountants Society of Houston.

Wendy holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans.

Uinta Central Basin

Branta is proud to profile the
Uinta Central Basin Discovery

The Bar F #1-20-3-2 discovery well commenced oil production on March 24, 2010 in the center of the Uinta Basin in eastern Utah. The well was testing at a stable average rate of 900+ barrels of oil per day of 42 API yellow wax crude and 650 thousand cubic feet per day (Mcfd) of natural gas with approximately 1,400 pounds of flowing tubing pressure

The well was completed in the Lower Green River and Upper Wasatch formations at a depth of 8,200 to 9,600 feet with six stages of hydraulic fracing.

The Bar F is about 7 miles south of the Altamont-Bluebell fields and potentially represents a major southerly extension of these prolific fields that combined have produced over 373 million barrels of oil equivalent from approximately 792 wells.
